Sean Cassidy was hooked on delivery from the moment he dropped o his first package on his 18th birthday in 1994. He worked his way through college, driving by day and studying at night, and when it came time to choose a path, transportation won.
He learned the business from every angle: dispatch, sales, warehouse, customer service, and eventually general manager of his first delivery company. His first days in the wine business came almost 20 years ago in Baltimore, with a boutique wine importer and distributor. There he ran a wine warehouse, offloaded pallets, managed inventory, handled deliveries, and took care of customers. That behind-the-scenes view of how a shipment really moves is the foundation of his white-glove reputation.
After leading more than one business to success, Sean watched the industry’s race to the bottom start wrecking what he loved. So he founded Gold Standard Transport. Instead of paying drivers as little as possible, he offers some of the highest starting pay around and brings the very best drivers together under one roof.
The result is a team of uniformed drivers in professional vehicles, using smartphones with real-time tracking and dispatching, so you always know where your delivery is. Sean’s specialty is time-critical final-mile delivery, from palletized freight and medical equipment to legal documents and valuables, with one priority: zero cargo damage and on-time delivery, every time. As a hands-on owner, he keeps his fleet safe and DOT-compliant and treats every client like an extension of his own supply chain.
Sean holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Maryland, where he was part of the 1997 to 1998 national champion mock trial team. Today he’s still in the mix, making sure every delivery arrives exactly as if you’d carried it yourself.
Dana Green brings over a decade of hands-on experience in hospitality and the wine industry to Gold Standard Transport’s wine delivery program. Dana spent nine years in the restaurant industry, learning firsthand what it means to serve people well when the stakes and the schedules are high. She went on to represent a boutique wine distributor, hosting wine dinners and building relationships with retail and restaurant wine buyers, sommeliers, and wine drinkers across Maryland.
That combination of restaurant floor hustle and wine-world relationships means Dana understands both sides of the table: what a winery needs from a shipping partner and what a customer expects when a bottle finally arrives. She knows that in the wine business, good enough isn’t good enough. A bottle that arrives warm, late, or broken isn’t just a shipping error. It’s a broken promise to a customer who was excited to receive it.
